Foodstead operates a local food ordering website. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, sign up for email updates, create an account, become a member, or place an order, and how we use and share it. Information we collect
We collect information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, account details, billing information, pickup or delivery details, order history, messages, and information submitted through signup or contact forms. If you apply to become a producer, we also collect the business and product information you submit.
Our website and service providers may automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring page, and cookies or similar identifiers. WooCommerce uses cookies and session data to keep track of shopping carts and support checkout.
Payments are handled by Woocommerce, Paypal, Stripe- dependent on member preference. Payment details you enter at checkout are processed under that provider’s practices. Foodstead does not keep or save any information beyond the payment processors’ system settings.
How we use information
We use information to operate the website; manage membership and accounts; process payments and orders; coordinate with producers and pickup or delivery partners; communicate about orders, schedules, and support requests; prevent fraud and protect the site; keep business and tax records; and comply with applicable law.
If you subscribe to marketing emails, we use your email address to send Foodstead news, order reminders, and information about products or producers. We use MailerLite to manage these messages. You can unsubscribe using the link in a marketing email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary order or account messages.
Marketing email lists are updated weekly.
When we share information
We share information only as needed to run Foodstead, including with our website host, WooCommerce and WordPress service providers, payment processor, MailerLite, and other tools we actually use. We may share the order details a producer needs to fill an order and the details a pickup or delivery partner needs to provide the selected service. Producers receive no information about individual member orders, names, or payments. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the security of our operations.
We do not sell customer email lists.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies help the shop remember a cart, maintain a login, and make checkout work. Foodstead uses Google analytics to monitor site activity. You can control many cookies through your browser, though disabling essential shop cookies may prevent cart or checkout functions from working.
How long we keep information
We keep account and order records as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, handle disputes, and meet recordkeeping obligations. Marketing subscriber information is kept until you unsubscribe or we remove it, subject to any records needed to document your preferences.
Security and your choices
We use reasonable safeguards for the information we handle, but no website or transmission method is completely secure. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information by emailing foodsteadnc@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain records that we are required or permitted to keep. You may also update account information through your account, if available.
Children
The website is intended for adults making household purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can review and remove it as appropriate.
Other sites and changes
Links to producer, social media, or other external sites are governed by those sites’ own privacy practices. We may update this policy as our tools or practices change. We will post the revised policy here with a new effective date.
